William “Frank” Cheek, 82, of Lafayette peacefully passed away at 8:30pm on Friday, September 9, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lafayette, after a long, valiant fight with heart disease. Frank was born on August 19, 1940 in Cynthiana, KY to the late William Frank Cheek, Sr. and Dora Irene Suber Cheek. He was a 1958 graduate of Scircleville High School, served with the Indiana National Guard and was a member of the Indiana Free Masonry since 1965. Frank was married in 1958 to Linda Jervis and she proceeded him in death in 2002. After working for several manufacturing companies, Frank grew LH Industrial Supplies from the trunk of his car into a thriving business that serves many local and area businesses to this day. Frank was an avid antique car collector and took great pride in attending car shows in his red ’56 or white ’57 Ford Thunderbird. He and his adoring fiancée, Vicki Van Kirk, spent many years enjoying the shows and the Blackjack tables of Las Vegas. In later years they stayed closer to home, enjoying the beauty of West Baden and the French Lick Casino. Their infectious personalities made them life-long friends with many people from Las Vegas and French Lick. Surviving along with his fiancée of 17 years, Victoria Joan Van Kirk are a
daughter, Kristina (Alan) Robertson of Ft. Wayne, son Kregg (Christina) of Lafayette, a son-in-law, Dan Hensley of Phoenix, Arizona, sisters Marjorie Francis of Wabash, Bobbie Johnson of Kokomo, Lois Hamilton of Sharpsville, Linda (Richard) Culbertson of Kokomo, Kathleen (Steve) Fearnow of Soddy- Daisy, TN, and a brother Roy (Trudy) Cheek of Michigantown, grandchildren Katee Hensley, Kaycee (Chris) Hensley Port, Cory Hensley, Abbey Robertson, Alex Robertson, Amanda Robertson, Konnor (Tori) Cheek and Austin Cheek and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter Kimberly Hensley and sisters, Ruth Royce, Velma Householder, Betty Nead, Genita Young and brothers James and Dale Cheek. Friends may call from 1pm to 5pm, Friday, September 23, 2022 in the funeral chapel at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens with services at 5pm. Masonic services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Research. Tippecanoe Funeral and Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
