Walter Welch Hutte, 84 of Marion went home to be with the Lord on Saturday August 18th at 1pm. He was born at Gas City on September 22,1933, the son of Fred and Geneva Topliff Hutte. He was a 1953 graduate of Mississinewa High School at Gas City. He served with the US Army. Walter was employed at Dana Corporation for over 30 years. Walter enjoyed attending church, playing the piano, tinkering in the shed, gardening, going on vacation, recycling, going to Jellystone Park, spending time with his family, and gathering around the table to eat with family and friends.
On April 25,1958 at Indianapolis, he married Faye Jean Southern. They shared over 60 years and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters Angie (Phil) Smith of Friendville, MD and Rebecca Ann (and the late Eloy) Calderon Jr. of Marion, five grandchildren Rosalinda (Jeremy) Taylor of Sweetser, Andrea (Seth) Mahoney of Marion, Aaron Calderon of Marion, Austin (Charisse) Smith, and Ethan (Katie) Smith all of Accident, MD. Five great-grandchildren Jayden, Bella, Lincoln, Ace and Zaylynn. Also surviving is one sister Bertha Hillsamer of Safety Harbor, FL.
Funeral services will be at 2pm Friday at Jesus Fellowship Family Church 221 S Adams St. in Marion with Pastor Jeremy Taylor and Pastor Phil Smith officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7pm Thursday at the church. Entombment at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military graveside rite will follow the funeral services at the church.
