Marvin Harold Edwards, 70 of Fowler passed away at 1:02 pm Saturday September 29th at the VA Hospital in Danville, IL. He was born May 1,1948 in Lafayette to the late Elmer and Maxine Treece Edwards. He graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1966. He had attended Purdue University, studying Management. In 1968 he entered the US Army and spent a year in Viet Nam. He operated health food stores and later worked for the VA in Human Resources. He had served as an ROTC recruiter. He enjoyed playing and coaching softball, singing in church choir, working in stained glass. In 1986 he married Diane Stockment, she survives. They lived for almost 20 years in Arizona, returning to Lafayette when he was diagnosed with Leukemia.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter Jennifer S. Edwards of Clermont, FL, a brother Carl W. Edwards of Temecula, CA, a sister-in-law Jennifer Frasier of Lafayette, sister in law Debra (Camille) Samara of Houston, TX, and Denise Wallpe of Carmel, IN, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 12 noon Friday at Federated Church 2400 Sagamore Ln, West Lafayette, pastor Joseph Seger officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10am until time of services. Burial with military graveside rite by the US Army and American Legion Post 11 will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette, IN
