Larry Coleman Williams, 64, passed away at Franciscan Health Hospital on Jan. 3, 2022, in Lafayette, IN. He was born April 20, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, to Willie Williams Coleman and Bessie Irene (Mosley) Grinnage, who precedes him in death. He later met the love of his life, Jeanie Marie (Kirk) Williams. They spent 15 years together before they were married on March 9, 1990. Together they spent 46 years by each other’s side, raising their family and watching their family grow. Larry worked as a Laborer for Wabash Center and later Caterpillar in Lafayette, IN, many years ago.. He loved music, dancing, watching anime and classic movies, he played football in school and enjoyed watching games, and loved to sing, which his family will miss greatly.
Larry is survived by his wife, Jeanie Williams; his children and grandchildren, daughter, Aquana Fox; daughter, Monique (Kevin) Cunningham, with DeeDee and Najeé; son, Larry (Virginia) Coleman, Jr., with Ebony, Makayla, Kiara, and Diondre; daughter, Amber (Anthony) Harvey with Michael and London; son, Alonzo Coleman with Monee and Samiya; son, Aaron Kirk with Jayden, Dakota, Dylan, and Drew; son, Matthew (Sylvia) Coleman with Leland and Joe; and son, Torrey (Nicole) Coleman with Kamea, Azarhia, Torrihion, Mila, and Aniyah; son, Londale Kirk with Aliyah, Elijah, and Luca; daughter, Shamberly Kirk with Joharri; daughter, Shantaya (Gineshia) Kirk with Jahsiah, Kévaughn, Lamonté, Kendale, Léona, Trevor, and Avery; also with daughter, Annette Kirk-Williams; son, Reggie (Natasha) Releford with Heather, Kieshawna, and Curtis; daughter, Sunshine (Keith) Semmes with Kristopher, Karter, Kaliyah; daughter, Chanell Releford; daughter, Chelsea (Austin) Ruuska; daughter, Shalonda (Tristan) Williams with Kamai; and daughter Jasmine Williams. He was also survived by his brothers, Kenneth Grinnage, William “T.C.” Coleman, Stanley Coleman, Lenny Coleman; his former wife, Carlyle Coleman; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving sisters-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Joan Horton, Sandra Broom, Annette Grinnage, John Grinnage, Reggie Grinnage, Bernadine Williams, and one sibling that passed in infancy, Ronnie Coleman.
Due to the increasing covid numbers, the family request that the services be limited to immediate family only. The memorial service for Larry will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Funeral Chapel.
