I remember living across the street from Sara in the late 1950’s. I also use to deliver the newspaper to her. I remember Sara as a very nice and very personable person. I enjoyed my contact with her and she always had time to talk to me.
Sarah Bell (Moffatt) Banton, 88, of Lafayette, IN, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 28, 1933, in Orange County, IN, to Harley Moffatt and Cynthia (Cottengaim) Moffatt. She had five children from her previous marriage to Donald Mathers and two children with Paul Banton whom she married in 1968. He preceded her in death in 1980. Sarah loved bowling. She taught junior bowling and especially loved teaching senior bowling. Sarah worked at Market Square Lanes in Lafayette for over 50 years before she retired. Sarah enjoyed league bowling, competing in tournaments, finding a bargain, and most of all spending time with her family and grandchildren.
