Mollie Bea (Harrison) Pennock of West Lafayette, Indiana, passed into eternity to be with her Savior and Lord on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Mollie bravely fought ovarian cancer for three years.

Mollie was born the fourth child to Bennie R. and Billie (McCoy) Harrison on July 10, 1959. She was raised in the village of Industry, Illinois, and attended Industry schools. She earned her undergraduate degree in business and her graduate degree in business administration at Western Illinois University (WIU) in Macomb, Illinois. She then taught in the business department at WIU for two years. She worked as a sales representative for McGraw Hill Publishing Company in Indiana and later took a position with Random House Publishers. Following this, Mollie worked at Purdue University for 33 years before retiring as a Research Analyst at Purdue Life Foundation in 2022 due to health issues.

Mollie married Gordon Robert Pennock on July 4, 1986, in the First Assembly Church in Lafayette. Their union was blessed with the birth of their son, Callum Robert Pennock, on April 20, 1994. Mollie is survived by her husband, Gordon, and son Callum. Also surviving Mollie are her brother Robert (Ruth) Harrison of Industry, Illinois, and sisters Susan (Edward) Kepp of Alliance, Ohio, and Mary Ann (Myron) Davis of Monmouth, Illinois. Also surviving Mollie are several nieces and nephews that were very dear to her. Preceding her in death are brother-in-law Robert Wade and nephews Bradley Wade and Adam Davis.

In addition to her family, Mollie’s faith in Jesus Christ was paramount in her life. She accepted Christ as a young girl and served Him all of her life. She attended the River City Church in Lafayette. Mollie’s favorite hobby was researching family history and family legacy. She facilitated the restoration of family gravestones that were in disrepair. Mollie had a lifelong passion for BIG dogs. As she would often say, “If you cannot throw a saddle on it, it is not a dog.” There was always a big dog as a family member during her adult life. Her current flat-coated retriever, Maxwell, will mourn her passing.

The visitation service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 12, at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. As Mollie wished, cremation was accorded, and committal of the ashes will take place following the service. Also, Mollie’s wishes were that memorials may be made in her memory to the River City Church in Lafayette.
