Kim Rush, 58, passed away on her birthday, Friday, August 16, 2024. Born on August 16, 1966, she was the cherished daughter of Mary Smith and David Rush.
Kim had a vibrant and creative spirit. She found joy in crafting, crocheting, making gnomes, and exploring hidden treasures while thrifting. She also loved spending time playing games, especially dice, with her loved ones. For the past twenty-two years, Kim shared her life with her soulmate, Kurt, with whom she embarked on many adventures, creating countless memories together. Kim’s life was a testament to love, creativity, and the simple pleasures of life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Kim is survived by her soulmate, Kurt Schaffner; children, Aaron (Erika) Butler, Christina (Joshua) Gorman, Curtis (Theresa) Butler, Justin (Shiann) Yard, Rhonda Butler, Dale (Deborah) Sizemore, Robert Yard, Kurt Schaffner, Matthew Schaffner, and Bridget Schaffner; thirty-four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Roger Rush, Ted Robinson, John Rush, Eric Schaffner, and Joni Hulce.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Gary Rush, Tim Rush, Danny Rush, David Rush, and Rhonda Rush.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at Tippecanoe Mausoleum Chapel of Faith.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 23, 2024, at Tippecanoe Mausoleum Chapel of Faith, 3631 Morehouse Road, West Lafayette, Indiana. Cremation will follow.
