    A very special lady/ parent and “lover, supporter of the arts programs” in West Lafayette. Infectious laugh and smile, I shall always remember. Truly loved, remembered and always involved in the Cumberland musicals and activities. A well lived life filled with joy, smiles, laughter and love.

    Jessica, Marc, and Sara, I am deeply saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. She was a wonderful person; so giving, caring, and dedicated. She was very proud of all of you. She volunteered in the Happy Hollow School office during Sara’s time there. We shared many stories and laughs, and she was so helpful to everyone; especially me. I will miss her and the beautiful person she was. I hope that your fond memories, and the support of family and friends, will comfort you at this difficult time.

Kathleen (Kathy) Sprague Suisman, 63, of West Lafayette passed away peacefully on June 17, 2021, in Lafayette, IN. She was born on August 28, 1957, in Ithaca, NY to the late David A. and Phyllis Sprague.

Kathy worked for the last 12 years as an administrative assistant for the maintenance department of the West Lafayette Community School Corporation.  She started this position after years of volunteering in schools, a passion she had since her children were young.  She was a selfless woman who was devoted to her family, and who will be remembered as exceptionally kind, loving, empathic, and welcoming to others.  She had an infectious laugh and smile, and enjoyed gardening, quilting, and cross stitching.

Kathy is survived by her children Jessica (Michael) VanHuysse, Marc Suisman, and Sara Suisman, and grandchildren Aubrey and Annabelle VanHuysse. Also surviving are siblings Nancy Cleveland, David Sprague, Lawrence Sprague (Dawn), James Sprague, Carol Sprague, and Lynn Bobb (William), and numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Sprague and her nephew, Christopher Bordoni.

Visitation is to be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at the Tippecanoe Memory Gardens Funeral Chapel from 3-5pm. Services will immediately follow at 5pm.

In honor of Kathy’s service and dedication to the schools, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the West Lafayette Schools Education Foundation (https://wlsef.org/howtohelp/donate/) or your local school corporation.

Tippecanoe Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting with the arrangements.
