He was one of the nicest people I have ever met. He was a wonderful grandpa. Always happy. Always had a smile. Going to be missed by many people who knew him. I am glad I am one that had the honor of knowing him. He was always there for my granddaughter. R.I.P. Al.
Charles Alan Miley, 76, of Lafayette passed away at the University Hospital in Indianapolis, IN at 7:25 PM on January 29, 2021. He was born on May 19, 1944 to the late Kathryne and Stephen Miley in Lafayette, IN. Charles married Mary Ann Taylor on February 14, 2009 in Clearwater, Florida.
Born and raised in Lafayette Indiana, Al went to Lafayette Jefferson High School and graduated in 1962. Al then entered the United States Army in 1962 then received an honorable discharge in 1964. He was also an operator at Eli Lilly where he retired. Al was an avid golfer and had a membership at West Lafayette Country Club and the Bello Terra Golf Course.
Surviving with his wife Mary Ann are sons Roger (Danyel) Miley, and David (Michelle) Miley of Lafayette, IN. Surviving also are stepsons Parrish Taylor of Alexandria, LA, Jason Taylor of Shreveport, LA Sister Jean Ann Miley-Young of Winter Haven, FL, and brother Fred (Judy) Miley of Lafayette, IN. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren- 3 of Lafayette, IN, 6 of Louisiana, and 2 great grandchildren of Lafayette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
In accordance with his wishes, no services are scheduled.
