Cecelia “Maxine” (Shockley) Stigers, 92, of Lafayette, IN, passed away, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Health Hospital in Delphi, IN.

She was born October 1, 1929 in Delphi, IN to the late John Shockley and Mildred (Fair) Shockley. She graduated from Delphi High School Class of 1946. After completing her education, she married her husband, Herbert Stigers on December 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1986 after 38 happy years together.  Maxine worked for many years in retail and later was a food demonstrator at Sam’s Club, and was also a member of the Indiana Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Maxine had many joys in life, she loved to play Bingo with her friends, enjoyed playing euchre, many card games, and had a love for butterflies.

Maxine will be greatly missed by her friends and family, her daughter, Donna (Daryle) Loveless; son, Thomas (Peggy) Stigers; sister, Ida Lane; grandchildren, Jennifer Stigers, Marshall (Brandy) Loveless, Rob (Laura) Stigers, Scott Stigers, and Jessica Stigers; step-grandchildren, Tabitha Cinowski, and Jennifer (Brian) Ingle; as well as seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Herbert L. Stigers; sister, Mary Blake; sister, Betty Brass; brother, George Shockley; and brother, Carl Shockley.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm on Monday November 15, 2021, at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, with service to immediately follow at 12:00 pm. Guests are requested to wear face masks out of respect for the family and Maxine’s wishes. Online condolences can be left to the family at www.tippecanoememorygardens.com.
