Cremation Q&A

Concern #1 – Paying a Fair Price

Many people are surprised to learn that some West Lafayette funeral homes and some local cemeteries are no longer family-owned. Instead they are owned by large, publicly traded corporations based in other states. A portion of the corporate headquarters expense is added to each price they charge. Tippecanoe Memory Gardens is a family-owned business committed to always offering a fair price to every family we serve.

Concern #2 –Saying Goodbye One Last Time

Saying goodbye to your loved one is never easy. Many people try to skip this step. The sad reality is that failing to say goodbye to someone you love can leave emotional wounds that are difficult to heal.

At TMG, whenever possible every family is given the opportunity for a private farewell. If a public visitation is planned, the private farewell is typically scheduled before the public visitation. This private time helps family members mourn the loss.

Concern #3 – Finding a Place for a Ceremony

The majority of cremations in West Lafayette include some form of funeral ceremony or memorial service. Whether religious or non-religious, a service of some form always plays an important role in the healing process for the family and friends. Finding a place for a ceremony can be difficult.

Tippecanoe Funeral Chapel is conveniently located next to the cemetery, Opened in May 2021, you can set up memorabilia, pictures, and other items that reflect the life of your loved one in our warm and comforting chapel and “Living Room.” The Living Room area fosters conversation as memories are shared and loved ones gather.

Concern #4 – Deciding What to Do with the Ashes

All too often a family member receives the cremated remains and are left wondering…now what? Do you scatter the ashes someplace? Do you place them in an urn? What do you do with the urn? If you don’t plan a final resting place for the ashes,  future generations have to decide what to do with a collection of urns containing the ashes of long-lost relatives.

TMG offers offers many options, including cremation lots, niches in our mausoleums, cremation benches, private estate niche areas all at surprisingly affordable prices. We also have the area’s largest selection of take home memorial products that are created with your loved one’s ashes, including  cremation jewelry that families cherish.
